Brookhall Fishery Report - Week Ending 31 October 2010
(November 03, 2010)Brookhall Fishery Report
Dry flies have accounted for quite a few fish on the surface when the wind drops. Amazing as it sounds, small cdc patterns, shipman’s buzzers and small conventional dries have all been working well. John Kirkpatrick from Antrim enjoyed some great sport on Friday with 9 fish falling to a small klinkhammer. Young Curtis McDonald has continued his angling progress and had a good few days fishing and landed 5 in a few hours to a small cats whisker tied by himself. Well done Curtis. Another Brookhall regular Jim Armstrong from Maghaberry had a lucky few days this month landing 2 tagged fish. Tony and Margaret Carinduff from Comber enjoyed some good sport with fish falling to Buzzers, Lures, Nymphs and Hoppers.
On the cooler days anglers have been finding the fish holding deep, sinking lines and a slow retrieve have resulted in good catches.
Tommy Wright from Lisburn (pictured) had an excellent days fishing including a fine trout weighing 9lb 8oz which he caught using a cats whisker. Tommy also landed quite a few fish to buzzers. Paul Shortt from Belfast landed 16 trout on various patterns including damels, pink bloodworms and a hares ear and his bag included a tagged fish which made his trip to Brookhall well worth the visit.
