Brookhall Fishery Report - Week Ending 8th August 2010

(August 08, 2010)
A few spells of heavy rain throughout the week freshened up the water and dropped the temperature by a couple of David Marleydegrees.  This led to a rise in the activity of the trout.  They were mostly in the top couple of feet of the water and looking for something to chase. The majority of the lake is now weed free and a fresh stocking of some significantly larger fish has seen some impressive catches and left a few anglers with sore arms.

David Marley (pictured left) had some fantastic sport on buzzers and took this fish of 12lb 6oz on a black buzzer and floating line.

Brian Moore (pictured below) had a good few fish with his largest rainbow weighing in at 10lb 6oz on a montana nymph. Robert Graham again fishing buzzers took the heaviest fish of the week at 15lb 6ozs. Roy Morrison fishing buzzers as well landed a terrific trout at 11lb 8ozs while Arthur Couchman fishing lures landed his biggest at 14lb 8ozs on a cats whisker.

Despite horrendus weather Brookhall regular Jim Armstrong had 18 fish falling to small dries and buzzers .

On Friday 27th August we are holding an all night competition with prizes from Hardy/Greys, Fulling Mill and Shakespeare with proceeds going to Casting For Recovery, there are still places available and for further details please contact the fishery.
