The slightly cooler temperatures this week was a welcome break from the blistering sunshine we have had this past few weeks.
The few spells of heavy rain throughout the week freshened up the water and dropped the temperature by a couple of degrees. This led to a rise in the activity of the trout. They were mostly in the top couple of feet of the water and looking for something to chase.
Friends James Farrell and Ryan Crothers from Lisburn had a great days sport on Saturday catching over 40 between them. The boys were using a variety of tactics including buzzers on floating lines and lures on an intermediate. Ryan's biggest fish weighed in just shy of the 5 lb mark.
The boys are pictured above with Cathryne from Brookhall and regular angler Jim Armstrong who had a few cracking days on tiny buzzers but mainly dries.

Kenneth French from Randalstown enjoyed his first flyfishing trip and christened his new rod in style catching and landing 3 good fish and lost 2 all on a floating line and on a size 10 green buzzer. His Uncle Bobby Orr finished the day on 14 also on buzzers and son George Orr pipped him to the post with 15 on buzzers and dries he had tied up specially for the day.

Damsel Nymph, Yellow Dancer, various coloured Fritz patterns, Buzzers, Diawl Bach, Hares ear, and Dries have all been doing well on a floating line.
Some big fish and the more resident fish have been showing again this week but proving difficult to hook and land.
Everyone welcome and we hope to see some of you there.
There are still a few places left for the competition and bbq we are planning this Sunday 12th
July. You can get your name down for it by either phoning Kenny or Cathryrn or you can use the contact us form on the website.
