Brookhall Fishery report - Week Ending 28th June 2009

Blistering hot weather conditions has seen the fish drop deep at times to get into the cooler water, successful anglers have been using sinking lines during the day time or floating lines and buzzers, buzzers are fishing really well at the moment and varnished or goldhead buzzers on the point will help get you down to the fish in deep water. This has made for intense evening rises though, with the lake 'boiling' at times with fish. As the temperature and the sun drop slightly the fishing gets better and better. Stuart McAllister from Belfast had this cracking fish, fishing lures slowly on a sinking line in the deeper water at the top end of the lake.

Dry flies and small buzzers have been working exceptionally well again this week with some great sport to be had off the top of the water when there is some cloud cover but especially in the evenings. Anglers using imitative

patterns are catching large bags of fish.

Plenty of fish have been falling to dry flies, klinkhammers, Shipmans, CDCs or emergers, with black being the most productive colour for this week.
